Recently, Jalopnik has been pouring a lot more effort into their YouTube presence and even released a video and post today demonstrating what the goals of this channel are. Is it more than coincidence that VERY RECENTLY the channel was graced with the upload of a “controversial” crash video of the new Camaro, which is widely believed to be the very first new gen Camaro crash? IS IT?!? I THINK SO! This video was made, and that poor Camaro was crashed, in order to bring in loads of views (more than 800K to be exact!) to help bring attention to this new found Miata-loving channel!

I’m really not interested in videos... I’ll probably stop reading as often if it’s just videos and crowd sourced questions. plus they are all just so...punchable.
I would watch Jason Torchinsky explain automotive conspiracies while half drunk in a derlict basement. I’d watch the shit out of that.

I’m unfamiliar with what /o is so I can’t comment on that.
If I remember correctly, Travis is actually a decently experienced track driver. As for what happened to Patrick- everyone makes mistakes. He’s been given plenty of other great cars to drive and those have gone without incident. I’d chalk his accident up to him being unfamiliar with the car, circuit, and being distracted while he was talking for the camera. Obviously stuff like that can be prevented, but at the end of the day, shit happens.

I’ve heard opposing things on sliding your hands on the wheel vs maintaining 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock, though personally I find crossing my arms awkward as hell. Like jiu jitsu or something, how you’re taught depends on your dojo.
But that would imply that Patrick was a trained driver, and I believe he mentioned that he does not have much formal training. I’d think they could talk Gawker Media into sending the whole lot of them to a race school. They’d get some good stories and hopefully avoid future crashes.
